Muelle de New York
General Information
The Muelle de Nueva York is a beautiful promenade located on the Sevillian side of the historic Guadalquivir riverbed, built in 1905, and so-called because it was the departure point for ships heading to the United States.
On this promenade, which extends over 700 meters alongside the Paseo de las Delicias, still features parts of the original tracks used for carts that transported goods unloaded from ships arriving from America. When the Duke of Montpensier lived in the Palacio de San Telmo, there was a tunnel along this promenade that connected the palace with the dock, allowing the Duke to board more comfortably for his trips to Sanlúcar de Barrameda, where he owned another palace.
After decades of disuse and neglect, the Muelle de Nueva York has been revitalized for the enjoyment of the city and its visitors. It now features a landscaped area with bars and terraces, complemented by flower beds, pergolas, and two piers from which you can gaze out over the river.
Location: Paseo de las Delicias, 41001 Seville
The Muelle de Nueva York is not only a garden and promenade area, it also aims to become a new cultural and social venue for the city.
At its end closest to the Puente de los Remedios, there is a versatile outdoor space where large events can be held, such as product or service presentations, exhibitions, or cocktail parties. This is all set in an extraordinary and unique, remodelled river promenade in Seville.
The maximum capacity of the space is up to 500 people and there are several public car parks nearby. Access to the central area is adapted for people with disabilities.
