Muelle Camaronero
General Information
The Muelle Camaronero, located in Calle Betis in the Triana neighbourhood, has recently been revitalized as a new green space and viewpoint of Seville.
This new promenade, situated between the dock on Calle Betis and the open area south of the Kiosko de las Flores and the National Police station, has been renovated and now features a diverse range of flora including eucalyptus, grevillea, brachychiton, hibiscus, camellias, and peppercorn trees.
This area once had a vibrant maritime activity along the entire right bank of the Guadalquivir dock, as depicted on a tile in one of the houses on Calle Betis: “Enfrente de este lugar estuvo el Puerto Camaronero, lugar emblemático de Triana y residencia de las gentes dedicadas a la pesca” (“Opposite this spot was the Camaronero Port, an iconic place in Triana and home to those dedicated to fishing.”).
The Muelle Camaronero has been restored for the enjoyment of the city and its visitors, turning it into a promenade where one can view the historical part of the city and see Seville from the other side, from the river itself, in a unique setting in the Triana neighbourhood.
Location: Muelle Camaronero, Calle Betis, 41010 Seville
The Muelle Camaronero features a 330-square-metre viewing platform, a landscaped slope and a 1,500-square-metre wooden platform at the water level, which is protected by a safety railing.
The wooden platform at water level serves as a versatile outdoor venue in Seville suitable for hosting large events such as product or service presentations, exhibitions, and participatory gatherings
This space is part of the strategy to make the most of the Guadalquivir River for the people of Seville and as a tourist resource on both sides of the dock.
The maximum capacity of the space is up to 1,000 people and it is equipped with various public parking options nearby. The access is adapted for people with disabilities.
