Casino de la Exposición

General Information

The Casino de la Exposición is one of the city’s main cultural centres, built to house the Seville Pavilion that formed part of the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929.

Designed by the Valencian architect Vicente Traver y Tomás in 1926, who replaced Aníbal González, the building features Baroque elements in both its decoration and overall design, including the circular salon and the columned portico.

Throughout the year, the Casino offers a well-curated, diverse range of artistic exhibitions and other cultural activities such as book presentations and courses.

Among the events that have already been held in this building, we can highlight the World Chess Championship, and it has been the headquarter for the Film Festival and the Bienal of Flamenco. As a noteworthy fact, since 2012 the Casino de la Exposición is the official headquarters of La Casa de los Poetas y las Letras.

This Sevillian venue is located in a strategic place in Seville, next to María Luisa´s Park and Plaza de España, and very close to the monumental area of the city, making it the ideal place for different events.

The Casino de la Exposición has a large space under its central dome, as well as several adjoining rooms that give the complex great versatility to host all kinds of social and cultural events.
The maximum capacity of the space is up to 1,100 people, it has a private car park for buses and several public car parks, as well as access to the site adapted for people with disabilities.
The Casino can be divided into 3 different spaces:
1. Central Dome
A large space under a neo-baroque dome, richly decorated with marble columns, stained glass windows and frescoes around which the rest of the rooms and spaces of the enclosure are articulated. It is accessed through a main entrance from the outside, on the ground floor.
The dome of the Casino de la Exposición is highly versatile, allowing for different types of set-ups, depending on the event that is organised. Product Presentations and Cocktail Parties, Meetings, Congresses, Conferences, Acts, Awards and Commemorations, as well as Meetings and Reunions can be held in this space. Theatre set-ups with a stage or presidential table and banquet-type set-ups can also be carried out.
2. Outdoor Space
The outdoor space recently remodelled and pedestrianised surrounding the Casino de la Exposición, is made up of gardens and terraces that allow larger-scale activities to be held. It is ideal for cocktail parties and product or service presentations.
3. Side room
The Casino de la Exposición has a smaller hall next to the dome, which allows for more personal and intimate events, such as book presentations or smaller art exhibitions.
